Parents

  • The federal scholarship tax credit can be used for tuition, fees, books, school supplies, and equipment to attend K–12 private schools, microschools, or for homeschooling expenses.
  • Kids attending public schools can also qualify through their school district’s existing EIO educational foundation.
  • Eligible families must earn less than $358,000 per year to qualify.

Schools & Scholarship Organizations

  • In 2027, donors with IRS tax liability can donate up to $1,700 annually to your school through the same scholarship organizations that process EITC and OSTC.
  • Sign-up for RedefinED’s ECCA Readiness Course so that your organization can take advantage of ECCA tax credit funding beginning in 2027.

Donors

  • Donate up to $1,700 per annual IRS tax return through one of Pennsylvania’s established scholarship organizations.
  • Donors do not need to live in Pennsylvania and may donate to any Scholarship Granting Organization (SGOs) in the United States. A list of SGOs will be available in late 2026.
  • Existing individual donors to EITC, OSTC, and EDS may also donate separately to the federal tax credit scholarship program.
