The average scholarship award is $2,583 for EITC and $1,853 for OSTC. However, some schools will offer larger or smaller scholarships depending on the number of students applying for scholarships.
Students can apply for scholarships through their private school and/or their school’s scholarship organization in the fall for the following school year.
Families of scholarship applicants must earn below the household income limit of $112,348, plus $19,775 for each dependent; furthermore, OSTC applicants must also live within the attendance boundary of a low-achieving public school.
Students receiving tax credit scholarship routinely outperform their public school peers. Tax credit scholarship students graduate from high school and matriculate to college at higher rates than their public school counterparts, and are present at school even while public schools are experiencing unprecedented chronic absenteeism.
